Daswandh - Giving One-Tenth
Contributing one-tenth of one's income to charitable causes and community welfare.
Daswandh teaches that our earnings are not fully ours - a portion belongs to the community and those in need. This practice cultivates generosity and prevents attachment to wealth.
One who gives in charity, and practices righteousness, shall be seated in the Court of the Lord.
Daswandh maintains the principle that wealth is a trust from God to be shared.

- What Sikhism says about seva and service
Setting aside a tenth of what you earn for others. It treats income as partly owed rather than wholly owned.
- What Sikhism says about habit and discipline
Daswandh puts a number on it: one-tenth of income. A habit with an arithmetic test cannot be quietly downgraded the way a resolution can, and the stated reason is to stop attachment to wealth forming in the first place.
