Peace as Goal

While prepared to fight, peace remains the ultimate goal of Sikh action.

The Sikh warrior tradition aims not at conquest but at establishing peace and justice. War is never glorified; it is accepted as sometimes necessary to end greater violence.

First comes peace, then righteousness, then knowledge, then liberation.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Granth Sahib

Peace is the foundation upon which all other goods rest.
