Sat - Truth
Truth is the highest virtue, encompassing honesty, authenticity, and alignment with reality.
Sat is one of the five virtues in Sikhism. It goes beyond not lying to living authentically, seeing reality clearly, and aligning one's life with eternal truth.
Truth is the highest virtue, but higher still is truthful living.
Truth is not just a virtue but the nature of ultimate reality.

- What Sikhism says about truth and lying
Sat as one of the five virtues is explicitly defined as more than not lying: seeing reality clearly and living authentically. That widens the offence — self-deception counts, even when you have told nobody anything false.
