Maya - Illusion
The deceptive nature of material reality that distracts from spiritual truth.
Maya is not saying the world is unreal, but that our perception of it as separate from God is illusion. Attachment to maya's temporary pleasures distracts from eternal truth.
Maya is the sweet name of the deadly trap.
Maya obscures the divine presence in all things.
