Ardas - Standing Prayer
The formal prayer recited at the conclusion of Sikh worship and important occasions.
Ardas is the Sikh supplication prayer, recited standing with folded hands. It remembers Sikh history, martyrs, and asks for divine blessing. It ends with 'Sarbat da Bhala' - welfare for all.
May the Khalsa always triumph; may the Name be exalted; and may all prosper through Your grace.
Ardas connects individual prayer to community and history.

- What Sikhism says about hope
Ardas puts hope in a fixed form: stand, recall the martyrs, ask for the welfare of all. Hope here is something you do with your body at a set moment, not a feeling you wait to arrive.
