Excellence in Craft
The Stoic applies the same principle of virtue to professional work: whatever one does should be done with full skill and attention.
Virtue extends into every domain of life including one's work and craft. A cobbler who makes shoes badly while philosophizing has not grasped Stoicism. True Stoic practice means bringing the same care and excellence to every task, however humble, as one would to the most elevated duty.
Perform every act in life as though it were your last.
Stoic craft ethics anticipates Confucian concepts of rectification and modern ideas of professional excellence.
