The Logos - Universal Reason
The universe is governed by a rational principle called the Logos; human reason participates in and reflects this cosmic intelligence.
Stoics held that the cosmos is not a random collection of atoms but an ordered whole pervaded by divine reason (logos). This rational principle operates as both physical law and moral order. Human reason is a fragment of the cosmic logos, explaining why humans can discern natural law and have moral obligations.
The universe is change; our life is what our thoughts make it.
The Stoic logos influenced the Gospel of John, Philo of Alexandria, and later Christian theology through the concept of divine reason.
