Svabhava - Absence of Inherent Existence

Nothing possesses intrinsic, self-established nature.

Svabhava-shunyata means the absence of any essence that exists from its own side, independently. All phenomena are empty of svabhava, existing only through dependent designation.

There is no thing that is not dependently arisen. Therefore there is no thing that is not empty.

Nagarjuna, Mulamadhyamakakarika

Negating inherent existence is the core of Madhyamaka analysis.
