The Upanishads

Beyond Virtue and Vice

The liberated one transcends moral duality.

The knower of Brahman is not troubled by thoughts of 'why did I not do good' or 'why did I do evil.' Such duality is transcended in Self-knowledge.

He is not troubled by 'why did I not do good?' or 'why did I do evil?' One who knows this shakes off both.

Taittiriya Upanishad, Taittiriya Upanishad 2.9

Liberation transcends the relative realm of right and wrong.
