The Fravashi
The eternal spiritual aspect of every soul that pre-exists birth.
Each person has a fravashi - a pre-existing spiritual double or guardian spirit. Fravashis chose to enter material existence to fight evil. Honoring ancestors' fravashis is important in Zoroastrian practice.
Your fravashi chose this battle; fight it well.
Fravashi belief may relate to later angel concepts.

- What Zoroastrianism says about time
Each soul has an eternal aspect said to exist before birth. A life is therefore an episode in something longer rather than the whole of it.
