Conscience (Daena)

The inner guide that leads toward truth and judges after death.

Daena is conscience or inner religion - the spiritual self that guides during life and meets the soul at death. At the Chinvat Bridge, one's daena appears beautiful (for the righteous) or ugly (for the wicked).

Follow your daena; it knows the way of truth.

  • What Zoroastrianism says about truth and lying

Daena is the inner self that guides you in life and then meets your soul at the Chinvat Bridge, appearing beautiful for the righteous and ugly for the wicked. You are not judged by a stranger but by what your own honesty has grown into.
