The Avesta

The sacred scriptures of Zoroastrianism.

The Avesta is the collection of Zoroastrian sacred texts. It includes the Gathas (Zarathustra's own words), the Yasna (liturgy), the Yashts (hymns to yazatas), and the Vendidad (purity laws).

The Avesta preserves the words of truth.

The Avesta is the primary source for Zoroastrian belief and practice.
