The Gathas

The hymns composed by Zarathustra himself, the holiest texts.

The Gathas are 17 hymns in the Avesta attributed directly to Zarathustra. They are the most sacred texts, containing the prophet's own teachings in an ancient Iranian dialect. They form the core of Zoroastrian belief.

In the Gathas, we hear Zarathustra's own voice.
