Tilawah - Recitation of Quran
The practice of reciting the Quran with proper pronunciation, contemplation, and reverence.
Tilawah (التلاوة) is the recitation of the Quran, a act of worship that brings immense reward. The Prophet (PBUH) said each letter of Quran recited earns ten rewards. Proper tilawah includes tajweed (correct pronunciation), tadabbur (contemplation), and khushu' (humility). The Quran was revealed to be recited, heard, and implemented. Regular tilawah polishes the heart, provides guidance, and creates connection with Allah's speech. The Prophet's companions would weep during recitation. Reciting at night is especially beneficial when the heart is more receptive.
Those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, can expect a transaction that will never perish.
The Prophet (PBUH) said: 'The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.' Engagement with Quran is the foundation of Islamic learning.
