The Nine Lords of the Night
The nine deities who rule the darkness and the cycles of the underworld.
Nine lords govern the night hours and the nine levels of Xibalba. They rule in rotation, each influencing the quality of the night they govern. Understanding their cycles is essential for divination and knowing when to undertake important activities.
Nine is the number of the night, the number of completion in darkness.
The Nine Lords reveal how Mayans tracked multiple overlapping cycles of influence.
