Love Through Worship
The third form is devotion expressed through ritual worship, offering, and ceremony directed to the beloved.
Puja-asakti is love that delights in worshipping the Divine through ritual — offering flowers, light, incense, food, and song with a loving heart. Far from empty formalism, loving worship gives the devotion of the heart a body through which to express itself, and disciplines the day around remembrance of God. The careful tending of the altar, the daily offering, the festival celebration — all become acts of love when performed with feeling. The Bhagavad Gita affirms that even a leaf, a flower, or water offered with devotion is lovingly accepted by the Lord (9.26). This form sanctifies action and gathers the scattered attention into focused adoration. Worship, done with love, turns the whole of life into a continual offering.
Some love Him through devoted worship and offering.
The transformation of ritual from obligation into loving expression mirrors the way the Psalms and the Christian Eucharist are understood by devout practitioners as acts of love rather than mere observance, and the Gita's offered leaf parallels the widow's mite of the Gospel.
